“And you hath He quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins, wherein in times past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience”

The Spirit of Santichrist: Exposing the Church of Santa

Each year on Christmas Eve, children around the world prepare food and drink offerings to an ancient spirit-being, who rules as king over his spiritual realm, which is invisible to mankind.

The hope of every boy and girl is to appease this god through good works, in order to win his favor. This self-proclaimed moral code giver is accompanied by hosts of alien-like creatures, who are assigned to the inhabitants of the earth to take up residence in their hearts and homes, while keeping records of every wrong.

On Christmas day, this principality of the air exercises judgement upon the earth, operating under the cover of darkness, and rewarding some with pleasant distractions while condemning others through humiliation and shame. This great accuser defines right from wrong while assuming exemption from any higher accountability.

Does this sound familiar? Satan, the arch enemy of heaven, has perverted even the holiest of holidays through one of his most elaborate costumes, claiming the center of attention and enticing children to embrace himself as the father of gifts. Now, when I see Santa enthroned at malls and parades, I can’t help but to notice the similarities depicted by the statue of Baphomet, a winged, goat-headed, humanoid symbol of the occult. The statue features two smiling children, gazing up at the figure, as if pledging allegiance.

One of the most subversive and yet convincing arguments for reinforcing the fantastic reality of Santa was quoted in an adaptation of Miracle on 34th Street, when Santa’s attorney says, “I ask the court to judge which is worse: A lie that draws a smile or a truth that draws a tear.” A wolf in sheep’s clothing will always appeal to our emotions in order to make it easier to compromise our convictions. “For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their actions” (2 Cor. 11:13-15).

Satan, like other masqueraders, seeks to gain attention whilst maintaining a measure of control and allure through anonymity. As a case in point, Santa is simply an anagram of Satan.

Perhaps the most subtle and yet alarming part of this deception is the unity that the spirit of the Santichrist evokes. Families gather, in the name of tradition, invoking and inviting spiritual forces to enter their homes and influence their behavior. For good or for evil, a family in agreement is a powerful thing.

The Mission of Satan

Santa’s kingdom is a perversion of the kingdom of Heaven. Instead of Commandments, the Church of Satan has 7 tenets:

  1. One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason.
  2. The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.
  3. One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone
  4. The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one’s own.
  5. Beliefs should conform to one’s best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one’s beliefs.
  6. People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one’s best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused.
  7. Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.

“The mission of The Satanic Temple is to support empathy between people, freedom, unwillingness to tyrannical power, and protest against injustice” (The Satanic Temple).

This humanitarian approach to govern behavior may seem harmless at first glance. However, the last tenet summarizes the true agenda of the organization – total separation from God and His Word.

Working the Word
